Kevin Clancy has been rested from refereeing duty this weekend.

The Glasgow based official attracted wide-spread criticism from Celtic fans for failing to award two penalties during the second half of Saturday’s draw with Hibs when Ryan Christie and Moritz Bauer were fouled.

As one of the FIFA listed officials Clancy is assured of being first in line for the leading matches but has been overlooked for any of the 11 matches in the SPFL Premiership and Championship. With an international weekend coming up there will be at least a three week break before Clancy gets another top flight appointment.

During the first half of the Easter Road match Clancy did send Paul Heckingbottom to the stand with the Hibs boss now facing a disrepute charge from the SFA.

Seven yellow cards were also dished out in the Hibs v Celtic match. This weekend Willie Collum will be in charge of Celtic’s match away to Livingston while Don Robertson will referee the Aberdeen v Hibs fixture on Saturday.
