Despite the flood of goals that Celtic have started the season with more and more supporters are putting a striker at the top of their January Wish List.
Odsonne Edouard is developing rapidly into a quality striker with valid comparisons being made with Moussa Dembele while Ryan Christie reached double figures before September was completed,
Despite the stats and with one eye on the December fixture there appears to be an over reliance on Edouard. Vakoun Bayo has potential but is far from tried and tested while Leigh Griffiths continues to throw up more questions than answers despite a promising scoring burst at the start of the season.
Lawrence Shankland was mentioned last week but was overlooked in the summer when he was available as a free agent from Ayr United.
There is always the internal option with Jonathan Afolabi showing lots of promise in his first couple of reserve outings. Integrating him into the first team squad during high profile matches could be difficult but as Tony Watt proved a few years back sometimes circumstances can look favourably on a young player.
Other names will be mentioned but there is little doubt that when January comes around another striker will be on the menu for Celtic’s scouting team.
They definitely need a striker. They needed one at the start of the season and they now need one even more.

I like Ivan Toney at Peterborough. They have developed a number of good players over the years. They also don’t mind cashing in on good ones.

We need to look at Afolabi, Aitchison, Okoflex. Dembele n Shved need to start getting involved in the first team squad. No point having Sinclair there if he’s constantly overlooked. We desperately need a CDM, but I also think we don’t need 2 holding CM’s playing in leauge games?

Need a different option for games like the Spaghettihad at the weekend there. Need an old fashioned target man like big Venegoor of Hessilink who can hold it up, battle defenders and get on the end of crosses/set pieces.

I’d rather see Afolabi get more of a chance. He’s dominating amongst his peers(internationally) and needs more of a challenge. When you only play 1 striker, having 3 of first team quality and wages out of the team isn’t sustainable. The same reason Sinclair needs moved out.
