Politehnica Iasi couldn’t care less for Romania’s UEFA co-efficient as they ‘welcomed’ Cluj back from their Europa League win over Rennes.
As all real fans know just because a rival is playing in Europe you don’t wrap yourself in the national flag and wish them well- you cheer on their opponents and hope that they can inflict defeat and pain on the side you are competing against domestically.
Trolling level 100 was reached in Romania. All the ball boys at Poli Iasi – CFR wore Celtic Glasgow shirts to remind CFR’s players of their defeat at Celtic Park 3 weeks ago. The mind games worked, as CFR lost 2-1. pic.twitter.com/pgIVFCmUay

After their heroics in France Cluj returned to discover that Politehnica had decked their ball-boys out in Celtic kit with the stunt playing a small part in their 2-1 victory over the champions and league leaders.
The win lifted Politehnica into the top six, six points behind Cluj who are in top place after 14 matches.
Despite the lack of backing domestically Cluj look in good shape to progress in the Europa League after their 1-0 win away to Rennes.
If they can repeat that scoreline next week against the French side it will leave Group E as a three way battle with Celtic and Lazio for the qualification places.
