Jack Aitchison was on the scoresheet for Forest Green Rovers but his loan side had to settle for a point in the 2-2 draw at home to Mansfield Town.
It was the teenager’s eight appearance since heading on loan to League Two on the final day of the transfer window.
GOAL 5 MINUTES 45 SECONDS
That goal put Forest Green 2-0 in front on the hour mark but Mansfield pulled a goal back two minutes later then equalised in the 74th minute.
Full points would have taken them into second place but after being pegged back they are sitting in sixth position after 14 matches.
After loan spells at Dumbarton and Alloa last season it seems that the move south of the border has given Aitchison the run of first team matches that his career has required.
Full time training with new team-mates in a league that provides him with at least 46 league matches will give him the platform to realise the potential that he showed coming through the ranks within the Celtic Academy.
