Armstrong Oko-Flex appears to be committing his international future to Ireland.

The Celtic winger has a multi-cultural background being born in Ireland to Nigerian parents then being schooled in England from the age of 12 where he joined the Arsenal Academy and represented England upto u-17 level.

In the summer of 2018 Oko-Flex moved to Celtic on a professional contract, earlier this month he returned to Ireland to play in u-19 international matches against Denmark. A player can turn out for any eligible country until he has earned a full cap in a competitive match.

Under Stephen Kenny under-age football in Ireland seems to be moving in the right direction with the u-19 side reaching the semi-finals of the European Championships.

That squad included Jonathan Afolabi who moved to Celtic in the summer with the hoops boasting a number of under-age Irish internationalists.

Luca Connell and Lee O’Connor have played at u-21 level while midfielder Coffey played alongside Oko-Flex against Denmark.
