Odsonne Edouard appeared to have a quiet night in the u-21 clash with Georgia but come the hour come the man as he struck a stoppage time winner from the penalty spot. It was the striker’s 10th goal of the season for the French u-21 side.

L’Equipe reports:

The Celtic Glasgow forward has long gone through the game as a ghost until that goal in overtime (90+2)

The win was much needed with France sitting ahead of Switzerland on goal difference on nine points with Georgia and Azerbaijan three points behind although they have played more matches.

On Tuesday France travel to Switzerland for a match that will have a significant impact on the group with the Swiss very strong in under-age football over the last decade.

Neil Lennon will be following that match closely as he waits for the safe return on his star striker to Lennoxtown ahead of Saturday’s match against Livingston.

Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Bayo missed Celtic’s last match through injury with Mo Elyounoussi to be assessed on a foot injury that forced him out on the Norwegian international squad.
