Christopher Jullien seems baffled by speculation that John Kennedy could leave Celtic to manage Hibs.

At the age of 36 the hoops assistant has plenty of time to move into management with the prospects of the two clubs in sharp contrast.

Hibs have been in a downward spiral for over a year, leading to Neil Lennon leaving by mutual consent while the John McGinn windfall has been frittered away with a distinct lack of passion on and off the park as their Betfred Cup semi-final tickets illustrated.

Celtic took more than 40,000 fans to Hampden, are sitting top of the SPFL Premiership and last week beat Lazio to reach the last 32 of the Europa League with two matches to spare.

Financially you’d expect the Celtic assistant to be significantly better paid than the Hibs manager with that job proving to be a graveyard for bosses ranging from Terry Butcher, Alan Stubbs, John Hughes and Pat Fenlon.

Jullien is new to the Scottish scene but sometimes it takes a relative outsider to state the obvious as the Frenchman told BBC Scotland:

“He’s in a good place, we are in a good place,” Jullien said of Kennedy. “Who would leave Celtic? I’m in love with the club and I’m sure that he loves the place.

“Since I arrived, he’s been really good with me. He’s tried to advise me on everything that I can do on the field. Having him on my side every day is really, really enjoyable. He’s given me some advice on defending, on scoring, on everything; the whole role that I have on the pitch.

“You can’t ask for any more when you first arrive at a club; that someone is there for you and can tell you what you did well, what you did badly. Every time I have a problem or something like that on the field, or something I don’t understand, I call out to him and he answers me so quickly and that’s the thing I love about him.”

Hibs sacked Paul Heckingbottom 10 days ago but their 4-1 win away to St Johnstone has bought the club some time in appointing a successor.
