Celtic’s Twitter account has sent out a GIF of Leigh Griffiths in a goal scoring celebration.
The striker hasn’t played any sort of football since getting a 15-minute run out at the end of August against Hearts.
Two years ago to the day the striker scored from a spectacular free kick away to Ross County with the SPFL website recognising that goal.

After Celtic’s 2-0 win over Motherwell Neil Lennon stated that he expected Griffiths to be back in action in a fortnight with another update likely on Friday as the Celtic boss looks ahead to the visit of Livingston the following day.
Griffiths missed the second half of last season but took a full part in pre-season training followed up by three goals- against Nomme Kalju, Motherwell and St Johnstone- in the early weeks of the season but it is now close to three months since he last played.
With Celtic already through to the last 32 of the Europa League and Odsonne Edouard one booking away from a suspension next Thursday’s match at home to Rennes would seem an ideal opportunity for Griffiths to play from the start.
