The attempts to lend Alfredo Morelos credibility by being paired with Odsonne Edouard has now been extended to transfer speculation.
Since the summer the Ibrox striker has been linked with West Ham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, today The Sun has decided to bring Edouard into the Palace equation.
With the French u-21 internationalist Celtic’s only fit and available striker there is no chance of Neil Lennon agreeing to Edouard’s sale in January while the player himself is likely to have his eye on somewhere more attractive than Palace when he leaves Glasgow.
Regardless, The Sun reports:
ODSONNE EDOUARD is on Crystal Palace’s radar as they hunt for a new striker. The Celtic hitman, has emerged as a possible January target, with Roy Hodgson also interested in Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos.
Celtic paid a club record fee of £9m for Edouard in the summer of 2018 after a successful season on loan from Paris Saint Germain.
With a contract that runs until 2022 Celtic are very much in control of when Edouard moves on but there is a twin threat to the striker in the summer.
Bigger clubs than Palace are bound to be interested in the striker but with a place almost ensured in the French Olympic squad in July he won’t be available for UEFA qualifiers- if he remains a Celtic player.
