|

Leicester City fans are waking up this morning praying that Jose Mourinho gets the Spurs job.

If not there is a feeling that nine months into dedicating his life to Leicester Brendan Rodgers will be unable to resist the call of London as Spurs look for a new manager to replace Mauricio Pochettino.

Lee Dixon didn’t mess about with expressing his views on the issue, while much of England swoons to Leicester’s bright attacking football the former Arsenal full-back knows that Rodgers measures loyalty in pound notes.

Despite Spurs’ poor start to the season the sacking of Pochettino still came as a shock with the news announced around half-time in last night’s internationals.

Having taken Spurs to their first ever Champions League Final while handling the switch from Wembley back to The Spurs Stadium it seems that there was no goodwill towards the Argentinian.

Celtic fans will never forgive Rodgers for dumping the club less than two days before a trip to face Hearts at Tynecastle with the Irishman known to take media criticism to heart.

After covering the Glasgow derby in September Rodgers got in touch with Kris Boyd to complain about the praise given to Neil Lennon’s side which the previous Celtic boss took as criticism of himself.

Yesterday Rodgers sent a Leicester City XI to Ibrox to play in a friendly to give some of Steven Gerrard’s side match time.
