Scott Brown has called out Jeremie Frimpong for his ‘pathetic shooting’ with the teenager laughing off the criticism of his skipper.

Frimpong picked up the Man of the Match Award from Celtic’s 4-0 win over Livingston but seemed to crumble when he came within sight of the goal.

He’s a great wee lad but his shooting is pathetic but everything else about his game has been incredible. The energy he brings, his pace going down the line is brilliant, his composure is great for one so young

In six appearances Frimpong has made a massive impact on the Celtic side with Hatem Abd Elhamed and Moritz Bauer pushed aside as he claimed the right-back slot for himself.

The 18-year-old caught Neil Lennon’s eye during a pre-season friendly between Celtic and Manchester City with the enquires made afterwards leading to a deadline day transfer to the Scottish champions.

Frimpong wasn’t listed in Celtic’s Europa League squad and will miss out Thursday’s home tie against Rennes, keeping him fresh and fit for Sunday’s treck to Dingwall to take on Ross County.

After getting his debut in the League Cup win over Partick Thistle it seems that the 18-year-old is now one of the first name’s on the Celtic team-sheet for domestic matches.
