Shock as Lennon names four players left behind from Celtic’s trip to Rome

Celtic are without four key players for tomorrow’s Europa League tie against Lazio.

Leigh Griffiths, Mikey Johnston, Tom Rogic and Boli Bolingoli have all been left behind in Glasgow as Celtic prepare for a critical European night.

Bolingoli was the only one of that quartet likely to start but the loss of Rogic and Johnston reduces Neil Lennon’s attacking options from the bench.

Rogic started Saturday’s Betfred Cup semi final win over Hibs on Saturday but Celtic have a direct replacement in Ryan Christie.

Jonny Hayes is the likely replacement for Bolingoli, as he did against Hibs on Saturday but Greg Taylor is also available after making his debut last week in the 2-0 win over St Mirren.

Scott Sinclair failed to make the bench against Hibs but travelled with the squad today and is likely to earn a place on the bench.

Who should replace Boli Bolingoli at left-back?

Hayes, he has the experience

Taylor, a at natural left-back

Although they are down four important players Celtic will be backed by over 10,000 fans in the Stadio Olympico knowing that a win would almost ensure a place in the knock out stages of the Europa League in February.
