Scott Brown would like to go on playing until the age of 45!

The Celtic skipper will be 35 in June and has been seeing off competitors for his place over the last couple of years.

‘Getting a replacement for Broony’ has been a regular topic of conversation for Celtic fans and pundits but on this season’s form there is no sign of his form shading off.

Every medal that he picks up seems to provide the motivation to win the next one with younger rivals left in awe at the drive and ambition of the Celtic veteran.

Covering yesterday’s media conference with the Celtic skipper The Sun reports:

My wish is I could still be playing for Celtic and Scotland at the age of 45. But there comes a time when you have to make sure your body’s okay and give yourself the best chance of continuing to play for your club.

Earlier this year there was discussions about a move to Australia for Brown but soon after he signed a two-year deal with Celtic, keeping him at the club until June 2021.

After scoring twice in the Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hibs Neil Lennon brought up the subject of offering his captain another, extended deal.
