Chris Sutton was thrilled by Celtic’s powerplay at Hampden as they destroyed Hibs 5-2 to reach the final of the Betfred Cup.

Neil Lennon’s side were in dazzling form as they blew the Edinburgh side apart with doubles from Scott Brown and Mo Elyounoussi among the many highlights.

At times Celtic’s attacking play was devastating- in one spell shortly after half-time James Forrest and Elyounoussi struck the woodwork as the hoops threatened to run all over the Edinburgh side.

In their last four domestic matches Celtic have scored 17 goals with bottom of the table St Mirren the side that was able to put up most resistance.

Next up for Lennon’s side is a far tougher test from Lazio in the Europa League but the hoops will travel to Rome full of confidence with a domestic cup final to look forward to next month.
