Willie Collum will referee next Sunday’s League Cup Final at Hampden- his first Glasgow derby appointment in 16 months.

The Lanarkshire based official was heavily criticised by the Ibrox club last November with a statement claiming that he had ‘underlying issues’ when refereeing their matches.

Following that statement Collum was taken off matches involving Steven Gerrard’s club until the final SPFL match of last season, in-between times Collum was in charge of four Celtic matches.

In the only Glasgow derby clash this season Bobby Madden had a largely uneventful match despite issuing a late red card to Jordan Jones for a brutal attack on Mortitz Bauer.

Collum has been keeping a low profile over the last month after a horrendous decision to award a penalty for Borussia Monchengladbach in their Europa League tie against Roma.

Kevin Clancy is the fourth official with a recent trend developing of the fourth official at one fixture being put in charge of the next Glasgow derby- Collum was fourth official at Ibrox in September.
