Throughout today’s media conference it seemed as if playing Hamilton Accies tomorrow night was an irrelevance for those questioning Neil Lennon.

Questions about player injuries were in regard to Sunday’s League Cup Final rather than tomorrow’s League match with one reporter trying to fish out Lennon’s memories of the 2011 League Cup Final.

Lennon played ball to an extent but kept his focus firmly on Wednesday night when he is looking for three points and a strong performance, goal difference possibilities can wait until spring.

Every avenue was attempted to discuss Sunday’s match, after touching on a possible left-back crisis Lennon was forced into a familiar reply

Are you talking about Sunday again? What have I told you? I’m here to talk about Hamilton, you’ve got all Friday you can ask me anything you want about the cup final, previous cup finals or cup finals yet to come or team formations on Friday. It’s disrespectful to the game tomorrow night and to the opposition. I will cover all that on Friday guys, all right?

With the exceptions of Hatem Abd Elhamed and Jovo Simunovic it looks like Lennon will have a full-strength side for Sunday’s match although Greg Taylor is suspended after playing for Kilmarnock.

Lennon will have a round of post-match interviews tomorrow night but the real low down for Hampden, as the manager says, will come on Friday.
