Celtic have been linked with an interest in Ismaila Soro.
The 21-year-old midfielder has a very similar profile to Eboue Kouassi but crucially has come to attention under Nicky Hammond while Kouassi was signed in January 2017 shortly before Lee Congerton joined the club.
Soro is in his third season with Israeli side Bnei Yehuda with the Daily Record putting a £3m price tag on his head.
During the summer Celtic signed Hatem Abd Elhamed from Israeli football with Beram Kayal and Nir Bitton signed during Lennon’s first spell as manager.
While Scott Brown continues in outstanding form at the age of 34 there will be difficulties developing midfielders with Kouassi an example of players with potential failing to get the game time needed to develop.
This season Brown, Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie have been the regular midfield trio with Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic struggling to get a run of games.
Luca Connell was signed from Bolton during the summer and has yet to make the bench while Celtic will certainly review David Turnbull’s fitness in January after agreeing terns in June before the player required knee surgery.
Soro joined Yehuda in 2017 from Moldovan side Saxan in 2017 and is under contract until June 2021.
