Three weeks after refereeing the League Cup Final Willie Collum will take charge of the St Mirren v Celtic match.

Alfredo Morelos appeared to be given a free pass by the Lanarkshire based official as he went through a catalogue of attacks on Celtic players that went unpunished. Collum spoke to the former HJK Helsinki starlet twice during the first half but the fouls continued after the break.

The worst attack from Morelos, a stamp on the Achilles of Chris Jullien was missed by the referee and his assistant.

Collum will be assisted next Thursday by Douglas Ross who will be taking time off from the interests of his Moray constituents to make the 390 mile journey which is likely to require a hotel stay.

Ross and Collum combined for the sending off of Jozo Simunovic at Ibrox in March 2018 where the assistant was clearly seen shouting ‘Red Card, Red Card’.

With Collum in charge of the St Mirren match it’s expected that Kevin Clancy will referee the December 29 Glasgow derby.
