Cruzeiro fans vote to hold on to Bruno despite court action to leave

Two thirds of Cruzeiro supporters want Fabricio Bruno to say with their club.

Relegation to Serie B has hit the club hard but despite being involved in the side that was relegated the defender remains popular at the club.

An on-line poll was carried out over a three week period following relegation with Bruno the eighth most popular player at the club with 67% of supporters wanting the 23-year-old to stay on.

Since Cruzeiro were relegated a whole new board of directors has been appointed with a club statement revealing that Bruno’s agent had met with Celtic in London for transfer talks.

The player has been to Court in Brazil to get his contract cancelled but a ruling has been delayed until February when the transfer window is closed.

Neil Lennon is looking to bring in 2-4 players during the transfer window with Bruno the only central defender so far linked with a January move to Celtic.
