Odsonne Edouard’s winning goal against Aberdeen was cheered by friends and family watching from an Executive Box at Celtic Park.

The Frenchman struck midway through the second half with his 16th goal of the season giving Celtic full points to restore their five point advantage at the top of the SPFL Premiership.

Edouard had passed up a few chances in the first half but his value to the team has never been in doubt as he demonstrated when put through on goal from Ryan Christie’s pass midway through the second half.

There wasn’t much space to operate in, Joe Lewis was coming off his line, Shay Logan narrowing the angle but Edouard had a small target in mind and passed the ball into the net.

It was a match that Celtic dominated without getting the rewards but in the midst of a hectic schedule of matches all that mattered was securing full points.

Celtic and Edouard have got two more matches to get through this year, if they can take six more points into 2020 it will ensure the happiest of new year for all Celtic fans.
