Neil Lennon looked concerned when he was asked yesterday about the fitness of Moi Elyounoussi.

The on-loan winger looked off the pace during the first half of the League Cup Final. Prior to that outing his previous appearance was for 86 minutes in the 2-0 win over Motherwell on November 10.

With four matches over the next 12 days it looks unlikely that Elyounoussi will play again before the winter break although there was better news about Jonny Hayes and Mikey Johnston.

Jonny trained today (Monday) so we’ll see how he is tomorrow. I think that we had no ill effects from yesterday (against Hibs). Mikey Johnston we are hoping that he may make Wednesday but if not definitely Saturday.

Asked about Elyounoussi Lennon looked concerned said:

He might be out for a little bit longer; it’s going to take a little bit of time to settle that down.

Hearts away is usually one of the toughest fixtures of the season but the Edinburgh side appear to be in disarray with Daniel Stendel their third manager of the season.

Austin MacPhee managed a home win against St Mirren last month but in seven other SPFL Premiership matches at Tynecastle there has been four draws and three defeats.

Tomorrow’s match was scheduled for League Cup Final weekend and gives Celtic the chance to go five points clear at the top before Steven Gerrard’s side visit Hibs on Friday night.
