Kilmarnock fan Gordon Sawers delivered a typically blunt assessment of his side’s 1-0 defeat at Ibrox today.

The Ayrshire side set up to frustrate under caretaker boss Alex Dyer and were dealt a pre-match blow when Stephen O’Donnell was ruled out through injury.

Despite that set-back Killie were well organised throughout the team and went in on level terms at the interval.

The frustrations of the home fans saw Jermain Defoe replaced at half-time, five minutes after coming on Alfredo Morelos was on the scoresheet from a suspiciously offside position with Killie midfielder Gary Dicker booked for protesting to referee Stevie McLean.

Eamonn Brophy and Chris Burke were introduced by the visitors after they fell behind but there was no further scoring.
