Chris Jullien scored the goal but there’s no doubt that Fraser Forster was Celtic’s match winner today.

The keeper was in inspired form at Hampden as he held out against everything that Steven Gerrard’s side could throw at him.

Star striker Alfredo Morelos had half a dozen chances to break his scoring duck against Celtic but every time he was denied by the man known in Barcelona as The Great Wall.

The most significant save came in the 63rd minute when Forster dived low to his right to save a penalty after James Tavernier had handed the duty over to the £50m rated striker.

There was still half an hour for Celtic to survive but the longer the game went on the better Forster played before the final whistle blew to signal trophy number 10.

It was the first winners medal of Jullien’s career but the Frenchman knew that it wouldn’t have been possible without the loan signing from Southampton.

It’s just unbelievable. For me he is the best goalkeeper that I’ve played with, I call him the wall. He kept us in the game otherwise it would have been really difficult. His penalty and all those saves that he made at the start of the season half, it’s just ridiculous you know. He’s unbelievable, that trophy is for him today.
