Karamoko takes latest landmark in his stride

Karamoko Dembele has taken his latest career landmark in his stride.

In over 50 years of European competition the winger, at the age of 16 became the youngest player to represent the hoops in a UEFA competition.

Neil Lennon sent Dembele on for the last 20 minutes with Celtic trailing 2-0 to Cluj in their final Europa League group match.

It was a tough assignment for the teenager with Cluj showing no mercy as they hung on to their lead to accompany Celtic into Monday’s draw for the Round of 32.

Back in May Dembele made his much anticipated first team debut when he went on at half-time in the final SPFL match of the season at home to Hearts.

The following week he made the bench for the Scottish Cup Final but last night was his first competitive involvement of the season with the first team.

Lennon is keen to integrate Dembele into his first team squad with the Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle on January 18 the next likely outing.
