Neil Lennon has promised to be careful with Odsonne Edouard’s niggle.

During Tuesday’s broadcast media conference the Celtic boss was pressed about the niggle but wouldn’t give away any detail about the ‘niggle’ after the striker had been pictured training with his team-mates.

Afterwards Lennon spoke to the daily newspapers with The Sun mentioning ‘shake off a hamstring niggle’ although there is no quote from Lennon specific to that injury.

Edouard has four more days to be ready for Sunday’s League Cup Final at Hampden with Lennon effectively monitoring the striker on a daily basis.

The Sun reports:

We still don’t know if Edouard will be OK for Sunday. We have to be careful with that one. The season doesn’t stop on Sunday, win or lose, and we’ve got to be mindful of that.

The Frenchman will watch tonight’s match against Hamilton from the stand alongside Moi Elyounoussi and Boli Bolingoli.

All three were pictured in training on Tuesday with a view to being available for Sunday’s clash at Hampden.

Provided there is no adverse reaction to yesterday’s training session Edouard would seem likely to play on Sunday then be excused from the midweek trip to Romana to play Cluj.

The striker played for 68 minutes of the 4-0 win over Livingston on November 23 before being replaced by Leigh Griffiths.
