Neil Lennon is ready to let a number of players move out on loan in January.

During the summer younger players such as Jack Aitchison, Robbie Deas and Stephen Welsh went out on loan in order to get a taste of first team football.

Despite the extensive injury list there are a number of players that have barely featured this season with little prospect of that improving in the new year.

Eboue Kouassi, Marian Shved and Vakoun Bayo are all in need of first team football while at a different stage in their careers Luca Connell and Lee O’Connor need more than occasional reserve matches to accelerate their development.

Lennon has definite plans about the quality of player that he wants to bring in but told The Sun that others could be heading out on loan:

No matter what the gap is, we will look to strengthen. We may look at letting a couple of players go on loan. We are thinking of that at the minute, allied to the volume of games.

A ready-made striker would appear to be at the top of Lennon’s January wish list.

Odsonne Edouard has almost been a one man strike force so far this season but has missed starting the last four matches due to injury.

The Frenchman is likely to be the subject of transfer bids in the summer and will miss the European qualifiers due to the Olympic Games in Japan.
