Moi Elyounoussi seems to have stirred up a bit of controversy this morning with a claim that Celtic will DESTROY their opponents in the next Glasgow derby in a fortnight.

Strangely no other publisher has the quotes leaving Lewis Birrell of the Daily Record alone with his exclusive.

According to his twitter account Birrell is a Motherwell fan and freelance with SundayMailSport. There are o obvious links to Norway that are likely to have unearthed the story below:

Mohamed Elyounoussi insists Celtic will DESTROY Rangers in the crunch New Year Old Firm derby.

The Norwegian winger admits he flopped in last Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final win over Steven Gerrard’s side. But the on-loan Southampton star, 25, insists it will be a different story when they meet again at Parkhead just before the winter break.

Elyounoussi, who returned from injury at Hampden only to be hooked at half-time, said: “When we meet them again we’ll destroy them. There are more titles to win this season so we need to refocus.”

The only possible source of the story would have been the Mixed Zone at Hampden last Sunday following the League Cup Final.

Most players come through the Mixed Zone and will answer some questions with faces that they are slightly familiar with.

Celtic players are well briefed to be on their guard when they are being set up with loaded questions. Perhaps a Norwegian on loan from an English club to Celtic decided to open his heart to a Motherwell fan working solo at Hampden- or perhaps the story isn’t all that it seems.
