The day before facing Celtic a Colombian newspaper is claiming that an £11m bid for Alfredo Morelos has been rejected by the club from Ibrox.

Morelos is expected to lead the line for Steven Gerrard’s side at Celtic Park with the latest report following a well-established template. Details are vague.

Like the original Morelos moonbeam of January 2018 the bid has come in from an un-named club.

The Sun reports:

RANGERS have rejected an £11million bid for red-hot striker Alfredo Morelos, according to reports.

Colombian outlet El Universal claim a club tabled the big-money bid for the Gers striker ahead of the January transfer window.

The newspaper from Morelos’ homeland do not name the club which made the bid but claim it was way below an acceptable fee. But they do report that Premier League clubs are showing the most interest in the on-form forward.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard has previously ruled out a January transfer move for Morelos. He is adamant he won’t let his talisman leave in the window even for £40m.

At the end of last season Gerrard admitted that the only offer he was aware of for his top striker was for 3.5m euros.

With a £10m shortfall to see this season out there will be serious problems at Ibrox next month if they don’t make a significant transfer surplus.

Over the last 18 months Morelos has been sent off six times which is bound to raise a massive red flag to any mystery club considering making an offer.

A very very similar report has appeared in the Daily Record.
