Even on the back of a red card there is no drop in the love for Jeremie Frimpong among the Celtic support.
The teenager was Celtic’s outstanding player in the first half, the only player in hoops to play his natural game as he ignored the £7m threat from Ryan Kent.
While his older more experienced colleagues seemed lost under the Hampden lights the teenager with the Manc accent excelled with Glen Kamara booked for a waist high rugby challenge on the Celtic defender.

Soon after celebrating Celtic’s goal from Chris Jullien it all went wrong for Frimpong as a Jullien clearance bounced off Kris Ajer to present Alfredo Morelos with another chance at goal.
Frimpong reached out, Morelos crumbled and the longest half hour in the defender’s life started.
Willie Collum flashed a red card, Frimpong trudged off but behind him Fraser Forster saved the penalty- and everything else- as Celtic clung on to lift the trophy.
It’s the first senior medal for Frimpong, it certainly won’t be his last!
