Celtic’s Supporter Liaison Officer left no one in any doubt about his joy at yesterday’s Hampden triumph.

Trophy number 10 tasted that little bit sweeter than the previous nine of the current run with John Paul Taylor highlighting the ‘fair and square’ element.

At Hampden yesterday there wasn’t the slightest claim for offside against Chris Jullien’s goal as he floated in at the back post to score from Ryan Christie’s free kick.

After the match Steven Gerrard claimed that three Celtic’s players were offside with James Tavernier amazed that the match officials had missed the incident that he had also missed on the park.

There is no conclusive proof that Jullien was offside, in panic Filip Helander darted back to try and block the cross but the Frenchman had everything under control.

If there is one element of the match that requires review it is the way that Alfredo Morelos escaped punishment from Willie Collum.

Twice in the first half he was warned about barging into Kris Ajer with no interest in the ball. There were at least four fouls after the break by Morelos that went unpunished while he raked his studs down Jullien’s Achilles out of sight of Collum after the defender had cleared the ball.
