Reports suggest that three Renfrew players, two from Petershill and a member of their coaching staff were sent off before the players started to brawl.
Across pockets of Ayrshire, Fife and the Lothians the Junior game is in great health with clubs like Auchinleck Talbot capable of making extensive runs in the ‘real’ Scottish Cup.
Petershill are based in the Springburn area of Glasgow and are one of the great names at this level of the game with Junior Cup wins in 1951 and 1956 when 50,000 fans would attend the final at Hampden.
Today Petershill were literally in action away to Renfrew in the West Region Championship.
Junior football is notorious for its no-holds-barred approach with Police often on stand-by when the biggest towns in Ayrshire lock horns.
What happened in the Renfrew Rammy has still to be discovered but whatever occurred the uniquely Scottish level of the game will continue in it’s own way, rammy’s and all through 2020 and beyond.
Petershill no 2 the catalyst to arguing and fighting on the park. It got out of hand too quickly, the ref lost control. Fill scale fight on the park, spilling into the crowd. Ref abandoned the match

Petershill no 2 was itching for bother right from the start. Total knob. Got what he wanted and more. Was earlier having a giggle at Benton getting carried off and taking the piss when he was down in clear pain. Hope his jaw hurts as much tonight.
