Chris Sutton was at the centre of the media build up to the League Cup Final but the BT Sport pundit never anticipated that the hero of the day would be the Celtic keeper.

Fraser Forster pulled off a stunning early save from Ryan Jack and never let up- defying Alfredo Morelos with a series of incredible saves.

Pride of place was a penalty save midway through the second half from the £50m rated Colombian after Jeremie Frimpong was red carded.

Captain James Tavernier handed the ball to Morelos despite watching Forster defy the striker on numerous times- after a delay as Frimpong left the pitch Forster dived low to his right and pushed the ball away.

There was still 25 minutes plus stoppage time for Celtic to survive as Morelos knocked lumps out of his opponents. In one incident Celtic put the ball out the park to get treatment for Ajer but the Ibrox side refused to play the ball back.

Morelos incredibly escaped even a booking despite eight fouls awarded against him, after seven minutes of stoppage time the final whistle went with attention on Forster for possibly the greatest ever goalkeeping performance in a cup final.
