Ralph Hasenhuttl has commented on Fraser Forster’s form at Celtic but hasn’t confirmed whether there is a call-back clause in January.

The keeper joined Celtic on a season long loan towards the end of August but most loan deals have an option to recall during the transfer window.

Earlier this week The Telegraph reported that Southampton didn’t have an option to recall Forster but that wasn’t clear from Hasenhuttl’s media conference today.

Asked if there was a recall option he said: “At the moment we don’t think about that, we have our two or three goalkeepers here. He is on loan till the end of the season, it’s not the moment to think about that.”

Ross Wilson was Southampton’s Head of Football at the time of the loan deal but left St Mary’s soon after to take up a similar job at Ibrox.

Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy have shared the goalkeeping position at Southampton with little success, against Leicester at home Gunn managed to lose nine goals.

Every loan transfer is constructed in a different way but almost all have some sort of recall option.

Forster has been in outstanding form for Celtic, settling instantly behind Neil Lennon’s defence.

Talk of a permanent move to Celtic however seems a long way off with his Southampton contract running until 2022.
