Cluj could become the new Trondheim for Celtic supporters- with the benefit of prices in Romania a little bit more visitor friendly than those in Norway.

A thousand Celtic fans watched their side lose 2-0 to the Romanian champions but with an away day on February 20 to look forward to the travelling support weren’t too upset.

November’s trip to Lazio carried a real threat of trouble but a pre-Christmas trip to Romania went off trouble free.

There was none of the hostility of Rome, after the match as the locals applauded the Celtic support while You’ll Never Walk Alone was played over the stadium PA.

Celtic were in Cluj on Champions League duty in August and could make a third trip later on in the Europa League

The two clubs will be kept apart in Monday’s draw for the Round of 32 but from the last 16 onwards the draw is completely open.
