The SPFL has confirmed that there is no weather threat to today’s League Cup Final at Hampden.

Last night the Daily Record dug out a favoured story with a slight variation of the old school Big Match In Jeopardy headline revealing that it will be windy and rainy in Glasgow.

Weather experts on social media had been whistling in the wind about a storm lashed stadium when the reality is that it’s not far from a typical December day in the west of Scotland.

The design of Hampden leaves the majority of fans exposed to the elements with a December Final unlikely to enjoy the sunshine of the Scottish Cup Final.

Wind rather than rain will be a factor for both teams to contend with as they finalise their line-ups.

Odsonne Edouard is the main concern for Celtic fans who’ll have to wait until 1.45pm for the announcement over whether the Frenchman returns after missing three matches through injury.
