The best kid I’ve ever seen- Lennon’s glowing praise

|

After less than a dozen appearances Neil Lennon has admitted that he has never seen a better kid than Jeremie Frimpong.

The defender turned 19 during the week and turned in a mature driving performance way beyond his years as Celtic beat Hibs 2-0 to regain top spot in the SPFL Premiership.

Lennon switched to a 3-5-2 formation which gave Frimpong licence to bomb forward down the right-hand side with Boli Bolingoli given a similar role on the other flank.

I’ve never seen a better kid than him. The quality of his play, the pace of his play, the end product, he even scores today. His fitness levels are incredible, I think that the fans have really taken to him.

The former Manchester City kid switched from provider to goalscorer six minutes before half-time when he opened the scoring from an Odsonne Edouard assist.

Last Sunday at Hampden Frimpong was Celtic’s best outfield player as the hoops won the League Cup giving the new bhoy a winner’s medal before he had made 10 appearances.

On Wednesday Celtic travel east to face Hearts knowing that a win will put them five points clear for at least 48 hours before an intensive seven days period is completed by hosting Aberdeen on Saturday.
