Alarm bells went off among Celtic fans after Neil Lennon stated that he’d be happy to go into the remainder of the season with the squad that he already has.
Whether the hoops boss was indulging in manager-speak before springing a surprise or two depends on whether your glass is half full or half empty. For many fans they were looking down on a near empty glass.
At the start of the transfer window there was an expectation of two ready made first team players arriving to drive the team on making an instant impact. With all respect to Patryk Klimala and Ismaila Soro they arrive at Celtic with similar pedigrees to Vakoun Bayo and Marian Shved.
Marquee signings are probably a thing of the past but it seemed reasonable to expect a striker with some sort of reputation to come in to support and compete with Odsonne Edouard.
As it stands it looks like the return of Moi Elyounoussi, Hatem Abd Elhamed and Leigh Griffiths will be the additions to ensure a ninth successive title with little margin for error at the top of the SPFL.
?? Neil Lennon: “If I don’t do anything else I’ll be happy. I have a great squad with real quality in it. We’ve got a couple of players in and we’ve streamlined the squad a little bit.”

playing Russian roulette with 9 in a row chance to go on and dominate for probably another 10 years but even the Celtic board think that’s not healthy for the game.

Why don’t we take a punt on a cheaper CEO rather than taking a a punt on cheaper players all the time

See Simonivic injured for tomorrow, complete liability and there’s chat we don’t need another centre half…unbelievable ?

I hope this is a guarded push towards the board as this window has been lackluster at best. Lennon said he wanted quality and experience. What has changed? HH

We have signed 2 prospects they might turn out to be a wanyama or a bangura we don’t know. we need a left sided centre half and a winger if shevd or arzani ain’t getting chance

He’s not a yes man. He’s unfortunately working within the constraints placed upon him by a board more interested in hoarding cash than spending it. Rogers worked within the same straitjacket as did Deila, WGS etc before. Only MON was allowed a splurge and even then was reigned in

It’s the exact same rhetoric in EVERY window… We start off looking for 4, then the numbers dwindle until we’re ‘happy if nothing else comes in’…. My guess, we’ll get at least 1 on deadline day ?

That Celtic board absolutely scunner me at times, ever since lawell was appointed in 2003 there have been umpteen mistakes that nobody is interested in mentioning
Signed on average 11 player per year since 2003 found 5 or 6 gems which shows his philosophy doesn’t work?

So pretty much every other thing you said about transfers during this window has been what? Lies? Said by mistake? Or is it just that you have zero input when it comes to transfers and just say whatever Peter Lawwell tells you to say?
