Can’t break us down- definant Frimpong takes to Instagram

Jeremie Frimpong has sent out a defiant message on Instagram 24 hours after being stretchered off at Kilmarnock.

The young defender was the victim of a brutal attack from Alan Power that went unpunished by referee Don Robertson.

Leading with his left leg the Kilmarnock midfielder followed through with his right leg to connect with Frimpong’s knee to send him crashing onto the plastic surface.

After six minutes of treatment the young Celt was stretchered off to boos and abuse from the home fans.

Moritz Bauer replaced Frimpong as Celtic saw out the closing stages to retain top spot in the SPFL Premiership.

Last season Celtic lost their first visit to Rugby Park before a memorable 1-0 win in February with a late goal from Scott Brown.

Neil Lennon will provide an update on Frimpong’s injury tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s home match against Ross County.
