Eboue Kouassi has been pictured training with KRC Genk.

The Ivorian hasn’t been involved with the Celtic first team since the League Cup semi-final win over Hearts in October 2018 when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

Kouassi has played in one reserve match this season with a move to Belgium giving him the opportunity to prove his fitness and get his career back on track.

HBVL reports:

Eboué Kouassi is striking at the training at Genk. The transfer of 22-year-old Ivorian from Celtic to Genk is not officially complete yet. But that is only a matter of details.

Brendan Rodgers was responsible for signing Kouassi from Krasnodar in January 2017 but after arriving in Glasgow he was struck down by Malaria.

In July 2017 Olivier Ntcham was signed for £4.5m from Manchester City which further restricted Kouassi’s prospects of first team football.

The fee that Celtic paid in 2017 varies between £1.5m and £3m depending on the source that you use but with Ismaila Sori about to sign it is clear that his Celtic career is over.
