Since the Glasgow derby on Sunday the Scottish media has gone into overdrive to deflect attention away from the chronic disciplinary problems of Alfredo Morelos.

For four months the apologists, pundits and cheerleaders all echoed the view that the Colombian was a reformed character, had grown up, matured and was no worth at least £50m.

And then came two red cards over 15 days. The myth should have been blown apart but instead Scottish publishers have gone the extra mile to cover Colombian charities and explain that drawing your finger slowly across your throat in an aggressive manner actually means Game Over!

In Colombia they see things a little clearer, factually.

Since he arrived in the Old Continent he has seven expulsions – six in the Scottish Premier League and one in the Europa League. With those figures he becomes the third most expelled Colombian in European territory, behind the defenses Jeison Murillo, who is nine, and former player Mario Alberto Yepes with 10

Since the match on Sunday there has been no word of an additional punishment for Morelos. His team-mate Ryan Kent chose to point one hand at his head like a pistol and imitate a rifle with his other after scoring.

The SFA has offered Ryan Christie a two match suspension for an incident during the match. Dave Cormack of Aberdeen has escaped punishment for accusing Kris Ajer of feigning injury with a triple salvo.

Celtic’s only reaction has been a few comments to their friends at the Glasgow (Evening) Times.
