Everyone knows that facts are there to be distorted.
Across Scotland Kris Boyd is acknowledged as the record scorer in the 17 year history of the SPL.
In Barcelona and at Manchester United they celebrate a guy that scored 242 during seven seasons in Scotland that included a lengthy spell out of action with a badly broken leg. Henrik Larsson will forever get the VIP treatment at both clubs.
Last night Boyd was very selective with his stats, picking the number of SPFL matches that Griffiths has started.
Celtic also play in two domestic cup competitions and in Europe. For good measure Griffiths also scored the two most memorable Scotland goals of the 21st century.
Can’t argue with stats apparently.
Well Leigh Griffiths has played 71 (not 34) out of 135 league games, and he had 7 months out with mental health issues. He’s scored 42 goals in that time.
Not only is he a s*** pundit, he also can’t count. https://t.co/KT8aKHPzLP

Following his 40-goal haul that dragged Ronny Deila’s side over the line in season 2015/16 it is true that Griffiths has been less prolific. He has however contributed to a Treble Treble of success.
In the first season under Brendan Rodgers he scored 18 times. In the Double Treble season he scored 13 including one away to Anderlecht in the group stage of the Champions League.
Last season he was down to 6 including his 100th Celtic goal with last night’s counter at Rugby Park his fifth of the season.
In his own glorious goal ridden career Boyd scored ONCE against Celtic, in a dead rubber at Ibrox after the SPL title had been one. Henrik Larsson scored twice against Celtic, last night Kilmarnock sub Eamonn Brophy failed to add to the FOUR career goals he already has against Celtic.
Hopefully there will be plenty more goals from Griffiths with each one clearly a painful reminder to Boyd who managed a miserable three goals from 29 appearances in the 2014/15 Scottish Championship- and that is a FACT!
