Gerrard lines up swoops for two SPFL strikers

Steven Gerrard has lined up moves for Flo Kamberi and Lyndon Dykes to solve his striker crisis.

Jermain Defoe’s calf injury looks like keeping him out of action for the whole of February leaving hothead Alfredo Morelos as the only striker at Ibrox.

Last night word emerged of talks with Hibs to take Kamberi on loan which would spark a furious backlash from Hibees who were less than impressed by the form of Ibrox starlet Glen Middleton during a loan spell earlier this season. Greg Docherty has been suggested as a possible makeweight in a deal.

Should Hibs refuse to do business it seems that a move for Dykes is likely.

Last season the Australian born striker picked up more yellow cards than goals at Queen of the South but did enough to earn a move to Livi.

Back in September Dykes was a key figure as Livi beat Celtic 2-0 with interest from Ibrox following the pattern of last season’s signing of Kyle Lafferty who joined the Gerrard Revolution soon after scoring against Celtic.

This season Kamberi has scored three goals in 16 SPFL Premiership appearances, Dykes has 8 goals in 18 SPFL appearances with seven yellow and one red card.
