John Kennedy is hoping to have a new striker to work within the next fortnight.

Odsonne Edouard has virtually been a one man strike force during the first half of the season with no real back-up or competition around.

At full-back, on the wings and in central midfield Celtic have plenty of options but so far this season Leigh Griffiths, Vakoun Bayo and Lewis Morgan have failed to offer a strong alternative to Edouard.

Blly Sharp, Glenn Murray and Andraz Sporar have all been linked with moves to Celtic with Kennedy providing a little detail to Sky Sports:

The Celtic assistant said:

There are some options there which are going on in the background and will continue. And we would like to do that as quickly as possible but it needs to be right. We don’t want to just jump into something that is not quite right for us.

So there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes. It’s an area we are trying to improve to give us more options. But hopefully in the next week or two we can give you a bit more news on that.

It seems that Celtic are looking at two different options with supporters hoping that both can be successful!

Sharp and Murray would offer short term solutions coming in from the EPL while 25-year-old Sporar would be a longer term option who is currently top of the Slovakian scoring charts with Slovan Bratislava.
