Moi Elyounoussi is on course to return to action over the next fortnight.

The winger was in sparkling form before being struck down with a foot injury that brought his season to a halt.

Elyounoussi scored five goals in October to pick up the SPFL Player of the Month award but was last seen looking less than his usual self during a 45 minute appearance in the League Cup Final.

Celtic have carefully managed his recovery with Neil Lennon delivering good news at yesterday’s media conference.

The Sun reports the Celtic boss saying:

Mo should be fit by the end of the month. He’s out on the grass now doing some fitness work. It’s been a long one for him after coming back a little bit early for the cup final.

He has a stress reaction on his foot and after the cup final is flared up again. It’s not been able to settle but hopefully he’ll be OK by the end of the month.

James Forrest and Mikey Johnston had stints on the left wing last month but neither looked as natural as the Norwegian who was a constant goal threat when he was in the side.

Against Partick Thistle at the weekend Lennon started without any wingers with that formation likely to continue tonight away to Kilmarnock.

Next Wednesday Celtic are away to St Johnstone followed by another away day at Hamilton four days later where Elyounoussi created the the only goal of the game for James Forrest back in September.
