Lewis Morgan has still to complete his transfer to Inter Miami with the MLS newboys reporting for pre-season training.

The former St Mirren winger left Celtic’s training camp in Dubai almost a fortnight ago but the deal worth around £250,000 has still to go through.

The Miami Herald reports:

How many players have been signed? Twenty-two so far (of 30 roster limit), and the team is in negotiations with several internationals and two higher-priced Designated Players. Reports from Scotland say Inter Miami has agreed to terms with 23-year-old Celtic winger Lewis Morgan for a $300,000 transfer, which is expected to be announced in the coming days. Manchester City star David Silva is the biggest name that has been linked to the team for several months, with reports in England saying the four-time Premier League champion would likely join the team when his contract expires in June.

There has been no suggestion that Morgan has cooled on the transfer which has been greeted as a dream move for the winger.

A year ago he was about to go on loan to Sunderland in League One after making fleeting appearances under Brendan Rodgers in the first part of the season.

At the start of December Morgan was given a run of four matches starting as Celtic’s main striker which included a Europa League tie against Rennes and the final of the League Cup.

Celtic paid St Mirren £300,000 for Morgan in January 2018 with the Paisley side believed to have a sell-on clause in his hoops contract.
