Andy Walker is in the dark about the financial crisis at Ibrox.

In November their annual report revealed a £10m shortfall for this season with no plans made for a pay-out to Sports Direct after the injunctions awarded against the football club.

Since Steven Gerrard arrived at the club 20 months ago just £2m has been raised in transfer fees from the sale of Josh Windass and Daniel Candeias.

New Director of Football Ross Wilson has still to raise a penny with Gerrard left in no doubt that this transfer window is all about cutting costs.

With four days left in the transfer window Greg Docherty, Wes Foderingham, Eduardo Herrera, Jason Holt and Jordan Rossiter all remain on the pay-roll.

Big money departures seem more likely that arrivals but after co-commenting on yesterday’s defeat at Tynecastle Walker told Sky Sports:

They need some new additions and I’m surprised they’re not talking about adding to the squad in January. They’re either unwilling or unable to do business.

Normally in a transfer window, especially after Rangers had won so well at Celtic Park before the New Year, you would expect them to kick on with a couple of new additions to the squad. I’m just surprised they are not talking about any sort of investment in the team, that’s what they need.

At the AGM in November Dave King said that he would be standing down as chairman with plans for a share issue. King remains as chairman with no announcement about a share issue.
