The SFA have put controversial referees Kevin Clancy and John Beaton in charge of Celtic’s matches against Ross County and St Johnstone.

A year ago Celtic called for transparency after Beaton refused to take any action against Alfredo Morelos for attacks on Scott Brown, Ryan Christie and Tony Ralston. The request was ignored with Peter Lawwell telling shareholders at the 2019 AGM that the issue had been resolved in private.

Celtic’s last home match of 2019 was refereed by Kevin Clancy who gave a free kick against Christie but failed to notice the incident that brought about a charge of Brutality from the SFA Compliance Officer.

During Christie’s failed appeal against his suspension it was revealed by the Daily Record that his incident was missed by the match referee while Beaton saw the attacks by Morelos but felt that no action was taken.

Nineteen days after taking charge of the Glasgow derby it emerged that Clancy had given Morelos a third yellow card after the final whistle for his cut throat gesture at the Celtic support.

Don Robertson will referee the Kilmarnock v Celtic match.
