Bristol City are reported to be the latest club to show an interest in signing Andraz Sporar. The report is in the Daily Record.

Before Christmas Slovan Bratislava chief Ivan Kromtrik claimed that talks had taken place with Celtic who had been the most aggressive club to show an interest in their striker.

A fee varying between £5-7m has been banded about with Dinamo Kiev recently credited with an interest in the 25-year-old who scored five times in the Europa League group stage.

Discussing interest from Bristol City the Record reports:

The English Championship outfit are in the market for a frontman and are in the hunt to land Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah and Liverpool kid Rhian Brewster of Liverpool on loan deals. But the Robins have also scouted Sporar and are preparing to compete with Celtic to land the targetman. The 25-year-old is hot property after notching 20 goals in 26 appearances for Bratislava in Slovenia and in the Europa League.

A ready to play centre-forward would seem to be Celtic’s January transfer priority with Odsonne Edouard almost the only option available to Neil Lennon during the first half of the season.

Vakoun Bayo and Leigh Griffiths have contributed four SPFL Premiership goals with James Forrest and Ryan Christie the main contributors outside of Edouard.

Ideally Neil Lennon will be looking to have some new signings with his squad in Dubai next week but on past experiences Celtic tend to leave transfer business till the latter stages of the window.
