Twitter has got to the bottom of the so-called Leigh Griffiths incident at Kilmarnock last night.
The usual suspects were out in force with the Daily Record reporting that the striker ‘appeared to throw an object at a Killie fan as he was subbed off’.
The ‘object’ was tape used to keep his socks in place. When the board went up to replace Griffiths he could be seen on the pitch removing the tape. At the side of the away dug-out is a bin which the player can be seen throwing the tape towards.
Am I right in saying that he’s actually throwing that piece of tape into a bin….there is a black bag hanging from the wall https://t.co/Ot9p9y3avX

The old guy with the beard was hurling dog’s abuse at Griff. He then stood up in fake incredulity after some rolled-up sock tape was tossed in his general direction.
It’s not as though Griff threw a half bottle of Buckie or a battery at him, is it? pic.twitter.com/T2go4Te6QV

If you look at the guy in the green bib there is a bin unde neath him, that’s what Griff threw the tape at the guy just thought it was at him and went off on one,if you blow the photo up you will see the bin.

Hysteria levels have been cranked up with every move being examined to try and find cases to take to the SFA Compliance Officer. Referee Don Robertson took no action against Griffiths for the non-incident.
At the final Celtic match of 2019 Alfredo Morelos made a slit throat gesture at Celtic fans, 19 days later it was reported a third yellow card was issued. Ryan Kent escaped any punishment for running towards Celtic supporters firing an imaginary gun.
