Celtic’s reserve side will play their first match of 2020 on Wednesday when they take on Chelsea in a friendly at their Cobham Training Centre.

Tommy McIntyre will take a strong squad to London for the match with Karamoko Dembele likely to be the centre of attention with Chelsea strongly linked with a move for the 16-year-old winger.

Dembele played in Celtic’s last match of 2019, the 1-1 Glasgow Cup draw against Partick Thistle at Dumbarton which was a week after he had appeared as a substitute away to Cluj.

Neil Lennon may use the match to give a run out to some first team squad members as he gears up for three important SPFL matches this month as well as a Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle.

Lee O’Connor has captained the Celtic Reserve side in recent weeks but has been linked with a loan move to League One side Oxford United.

Celtic’s next domestic match is a Glasgow Cup tie against Clyde on January 21 to be played at Dumbarton.
